Summary

This position is located in Office of the Assistant Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), Transition Management (TM) for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). The incumbent of this position will support the goals and objectives of EHRM-IO program by supporting technical transition from existing VA supported applications to new applications identified for EHR system.

  • Develop methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts.
  • Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes.
  • Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support.
  • Provide recommendations for possible improvements and upgrades.
  • Coordinate and manage the overall service provided to a customer end-to-end.


Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Compressed/Flexible: At management's discretion
Telework: Up to 50% telework per pay period may be authorized at the management's discretion.
Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attend meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some may be required to carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: GS-13. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower-grade GS-12 isin the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing new and emerging technology applications and their impact on business processes; architectural methodologies used in the design and development of information systems; implementing systems life cycle management concepts used to plan, develop, implement, operate, and maintain information systems; and applying systems analysis concepts

AND

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is the possession of Extensive experience applying the principles, methods, and techniques of information technology (IT) assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation, such as IT baseline assessment, functional analysis, contingency planning, and disaster recovery.

Education

There is no substitution of education at the GS-13 level.
