Duties

Help
  • You will lead a team of system administrators and analysts performing the identification, remediation, and testing of emerging vulnerabilities on Joint and Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) or similar Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • You will be responsible for the oversight of all Maintenance Release (MR) packages across all the JEXC2 Family of Systems (FoS).
  • You will be responsible for improving, streamlining, and automating the MR processes using various scripting languages, applications, and frameworks such as Python, PowerShell, MECM, and Ansible.
  • You will collaborate with functional groups across the JEXC2 FoS and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) to ensure C2 systems receive applicable technical insertion and system improvement updates.
  • You will lead modernization efforts in coordination with the JEXC2 Cyber Implementation Lead and the JEXC2 Research and Development functional area to ensure a seamless and uniform product is delivered.
  • You will monitor MR creation, test, delivery, and schedule to ensure timely execution while identifying and resolving any impediments to the processes.
  • You will be responsible for the configuration management (CM) and scheduling of lab systems used to develop and test security solutions.
  • You will collaborate with the other JEXC2 Cybersecurity Operations Leads (Assurance, Compliance, and Implementation) to identify vulnerabilities and develop solutions for all JEXC2 product areas and customers.
  • You will communicate authoritatively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization and develop succinct and well-organized written correspondence, plans, reports, and briefs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, Research and Development Specialist, Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: creating or managing upgrade and security packages to mitigate emerging vulnerabilities affecting the cybersecurity posture of a Command and Control systems project. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
