Help

As a Deputy Director for Operations, GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the AI Corps, including coordinating with various departmental teams to ensure smooth execution of AI initiatives. This involves troubleshooting operational challenges, optimizing workflows, and ensuring that resources are effectively allocated to meet strategic objectives.
  • Tracking, report, and briefing the performance and outcomes of AI programs and initiatives, ensuring they meet goals. This duty could involve preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, presenting at conferences with the press, or establishing team rituals and practices to celebrate accomplishments.
  • Providing mentorship, guidance and professional development opportunities to AI Corps staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. This includes identifying skill gaps, arranging training sessions, and encouraging employees to pursue advanced expertise in AI technologies.

Qualifications

INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT
This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement that must be met prior to meeting the specialized experience. Applicant must possess IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four (4) competencies listed below:

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
  • Acting as the primary operations manager of a digital service or technology innovation team that brings together key elements that may include hiring, team culture, communications, and employee development.
  • Formulating and document a clear vision and comprehensive strategy for successful execution of AI or AI-enabling technology practices with a focus on creating repeatable processes.
  • Demonstrating clear senior level positions in or responsibility for managing a large team, establishing a culture of empowerment with clear mechanism for accountability.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
