Duties

Help
  • Assists in researching controversial issues; performs confidential and sensitive assignments for the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, or the Executive Officer.
  • Assists senior analysts supporting OCREO’s mission by analyzing administrative data and resolving administrative problems.
  • Identifies potential problems related to EO processes or procedures; promptly notifies OCREO staff when problems have potential for further impact or significant modifications are required.
  • Conducts research and study projects on a myriad of subjects that are sensitive, and concern high-profile issues related to the EO program. Provides evaluation of activities within the EO arena;
  • [CONT] identifies the need for changes in priorities or methods and makes recommendations.
  • Assists administrative staff by providing basic advice and assistance to managers or employees on the full range of administrative management issues including position management, performance management, employee relations,
  • [CONT] affirmative action, management information and planning, personnel policies and procedures, awards, training, space management, procurement, and travel.

To qualify for the GS-12
, the applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience should include organizing data from multiple systems; assisting in planning, organizing and carrying out duties involving calendars, controls, and training; planning and completing work assignments and projects timely; writing, editing, and briefing on a variety of materials for a range of audiences; working in a fast paced environment with constant shifting priorities; and possess strong customer service skills.

NONCOMPETITIVE CONSIDERATION DUE TO SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORITY

This is a non-bargaining unit position to be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan. The best-qualified list for this vacancy may be used to fill the same or similar positions in a component(s) under the same Deputy Commissioner. Additional selections may be made within 6 months of the date the best qualified list is issued.

LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected, they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.

OTHER NOTES:
This position is temporary not-to-exceed 1 year. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended or become permanent.

This position is eligible for telework.

Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Travel expenses for temporary assignments will be paid as appropriate according to applicable travel rules and/or regulations.

This is a moderate risk risk public trust position. The selected employee will be required to complete a Standard Form 85P, Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions, in order to have the appropriate investigation conducted, unless the employee has been previously certified eligible to occupy a position at this level.
