Duties

Help
  • Assists in development and implementation of the Energy Conservation Awareness.
  • Use various analytical tools to: monitor facilities to ensure that equipment is meeting expected performance, and to identify possible cost savings or comfort improvement opportunities.
  • Collect data for use to assist in maintenance and repair work, and to verify successful repairs; tracks and reports the success or failure of an active fault reduction program.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the Directorate of Public Works (DPW).
  • As COR, verifies that the Contractor performs the technical requirements of contracts in accordance with the contract terms, conditions, and specifications.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing criteria for new construction and/or modification of existing facilities or utility systems; reviewing contractor-submitted plans for technical adequacy and compliance with applicable standards; and recommending measures for energy/utility conservation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job there is no education substitution for experience, you must qualify based on specialized experience.
