The incumbent serves as Director for Native Arts and Tribal Affairs at the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), reporting to the Senior Deputy Chair. In this capacity, you will:
-Serve as the NEA's primary liaison between the agency and indigenous communities.
-Work within the NEA to coordinate and align related work across offices.
-Responsible for nation-to-nation relationships with federally recognized tribes (including management of tribal consultation), advising the Chair the Senior Deputy Chair, and other offices on tribal engagement and agency strategy to serve Native peoples and communities, developing and managing cooperative agreements, grants and other resources to support the advancement of native arts and tribal affairs.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
GS-14:
You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, with experience in performing the following duties:
1) Working as part of Native and Indigenous communities or tribal governments or serving as a liaison to Indigenous communities;
2) Working on grants, contracts, agreements, and other resources to support the advancement of Native arts and/or tribal affairs; and
3) Engaging on arts or culture-related issues on behalf or with Native communities.
GS-15:
You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, with experience in performing the following duties:
1) Working extensively as part of Native and Indigenous communities or tribal governments or serving as a liaison to Indigenous communities on arts or cultural issues.
2) Developing and managing grants, contracts, agreements, and other resources to support the advancement of Native arts and tribal affairs; and
3) Leading the development of a comprehensive strategy on arts or culture-related issues in support of Native communities.
