Duties

Help
  • Serves as Lead Program Associate, in a Child and Youth Services (CYS) program, with responsibility for the operation of the activity or a program (not to exceed 30 children/youth) in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains control of accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Oversees arrival/departure of children/youth. Contacts parents if children/youth do not arrive/depart as scheduled.
  • Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques; makes available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Explains program guidance, procedures, policies and directives.
  • Maintains site records and prepares required reports. Ensures site, equipment, and supplies are adequate and properly maintained and accounted for. Coordinates site activity during evacuations and emergencies.
  • Uses designated evaluation materials to ensure assigned area is in compliance with standards and procedures as outlined in applicable regulations and program management guides.

Candidate must:


1. Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and oral).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Possess and maintain a CDA/School Age/Youth Credential (including Boys and Girls Club of America)/Army Youth Practicum.
7. Possess twenty-four (24) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.

OR

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and oral).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
7. Possess AA degree with major emphasis in childcare.

OR

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and oral).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Possess six (6) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
7. Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, or Special Education.

PCS Costs:
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

  • Incentives will not be paid.
