SUMMARY OF DUTIES: 

Responsible for management control and efficient operation of multiple lodging revenue generating facilities, Inns of the Corps Iwakuni and Marine Lodge- Kintai Inn.  Implements new policies or innovative promotions that can increase room occupancy, deliver quality guest service while maintaining the required level of profitability. Develop and implement strategies/procedures to ensure safety and security of patrons.  Drive business by promoting the facilities and services for use and repeat visits utilizing the four elements of the marketing mix.Maximize profit by striving for the optimum occupancy rates and by achieving the best rate for all rooms sold on a daily basis. Promote total guest satisfaction by addressing the complaints, answering inquiries, and resolving problems that guests may have encountered. Develop and maintain close relationships with industry professionals, MCCS Support Divisions, and direct/indirect vendors to ensure that the guests¿ expectations are met. 

Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies.  Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget.  Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiates corrective action to ensure compliance of brand standard and performance metrics. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements.  Develops long-range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives, and exercises internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor with regard to subordinate supervisors and employees in the office.  Directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors supervises employees. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance.  Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.  Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.  Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.   Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND FOUR years of managerial experience in the hotel industry that demonstrates knowledge of business practices, program and financial management, branded concepts and administrative procedures that are relative to the food and hospitality industry., OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above. 
  • A Certified Hotel Supervisor designation is preferred. 
  • Ability to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of policies, procedures, and operational programs.  
  • Must demonstrate skills in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.  
  • Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with supervisors, subordinates, vendors and the public.
