Summary

This position is located in the Department of the Chief Program Officer, Office of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), in Washington, DC.

The NCCC is a full-time, team based residential program for men and women ages 18 to 26. The program is designed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. Corps members are assigned to one of four campuses located in Aurora, CO; Sacramento, CA; Vicksburg, MS; and Vinton, IA.

Duties

Help

The Lead Program Specialist (Marketing and Recruitment) provides day-to-day guidance to team members in the design and execution of marketing efforts to enhance NCCC program awareness to maximize Corps member recruitment opportunities. Primary duties include:

  • Analyzes recruitment and placement data to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategy to raise program awareness and achieve NCCC Corps member recruitment goals.
  • Identifies new recruit and marketing trends and develops proposals for integration into current and future recruitment strategies.
  • Develops and executes a strategy to convert recruitment leads received from various sources to actual Corps member applicants.
  • Participates in executing outreach efforts to secure and maintain the engagement of organizations supporting the NCCC mission.
  • Coordinates the recruitment activities of all contracted recruiters as the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Participates in the review and revision of the NCCC recruitment strategy, measures, and process evaluation.
  • Creates and manages data systems to enable data analytics to identify recruitment successes and areas for improvement.
  • Provides guidance to regional Community Relations Specialists concerning the crafting and execution of recruitment initiatives.
  • Plans and participates in the production of Webinars and other recruitment and engagement tools.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the upper-range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience must include all of the following:

  1. Actively participating in the development and execution of marketing and recruitment strategies; and
  2. Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data and systems analysis including social media analytics; and
  3. Experience developing and executing social media campaigns
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.

This is a temporary appointment that maybe extended for up to 1 year. If this position becomes permanent, no further competition will be required.
