Duties

Help
  • Designs, develops and implements computational and machine learning algorithms to big data to identify insights using next generation analytics tools to develop data-driven organization solutions.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with HI staff and other agencies.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of the data using techniques such as optimization methods, regression analysis, statistical analysis.
  • Uses advanced expert communication skills, data visualization, and written materials to convey in simple terms highly- complex concepts.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.

Basic Requirements
A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours), plus additional education or appropriate experience.

For the GS14: You must have You must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience for this position must have included ALL the following:
1. Using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and data science tools (e.g., Databricks, Synapse) to conduct advanced analyses;
2. Developing machine learning applications, from data collection to deployment, using real-world data to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of a process; AND
3. Leading the work of an analytics team, including developing team processes and reviewing the work of other data scientists or analysts.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
