Duties

Help
  • Serve as Branch Chief performing technical duties in accordance with FEHB authority and supports the Contracting Office in the negotiations of Federal Employee Healthcare benefits.
  • Works with Federal, state healthcare and other insurance providers.
  • Engages in internal and external stakeholders in the FEHB program.
  • Develops and implements mechanisms for communication ensuring all staff members understand their responsibilities.

Qualifications

For the GS 14: You must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in public or private sectors), which includes performing ALL the following activities:

  1. Perform contract administration responsibilities and negotiating with health insurance carriers or medical professionals;
  2. Sets priorities and individual tasks to achieve objectives, including deliverables and measures of success;
  3. Implements communication strategies to inform staff members and stakeholders of important information and to follow-up with staff, as required;
  4. Promotes strategic partnerships for developing solutions; AND
  5. Tracks and reports on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all projects.
Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS14 level.
