Summary

This position is assigned to Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Business Center (BC), Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Division (CREEOD) located in the Compliance and Training Branch (CTB).

The incumbent is responsible for serving as the senior advisor and program manager with oversight and coordination responsibilities. The incumbent will also serve as a lead instructor and role model in support of CREEOD's training program.

  • Advises Director and top FPAC leaders on DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) matters, provides expertise and coordination for national level DEIA initiatives and activities.
  • Develops guidelines, criteria, checklists, and standards for the conduct of all facets of FPAC's diversity policies.
  • Serves as the lead instructor in support of the DEIA training program.
  • Conducts researches and evaluates a broad range of FPAC policies to ensure compliance.
  • Develops and applies statistical theory and methods to summarize data information.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as work that involves 1) Participating in and supporting the development, delivery and communication of programs, policies, practices, and training that addresses Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) engagement initiatives; 2) Providing expert knowledge on training design and methodology to establish a comprehensive DEIA training program; 3) Network and identify opportunities for collaboration on DEIA by building relationships and establishing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the 08/09/2024 of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined above.

Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) (GS-13) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
