The primary purpose of this positions is to serve as the 66th Air Base Group (ABG) Deputy in an ABG supporting more than 12,000 personnel. With the commander (dual hated as installation commander), the incumbent oversees the complex, numerous, and varied day-to-day support activities that the ABG provides installation-wide.

Duties

Help

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
  • As deputy to the commander, plans, organizes, and oversees the day-to-day support activities that the 66 ABG provides to the installation.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Represents the ABG (in an installation commander capacity) with a variety of installation and functional area organizations and HHQs.
  • Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments to include long-term planning, functional/technical advice and guidance, and continuity of management. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.

  • This is a KEY position. Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
  • This position is designated mission essential. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs) Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas.

  1. Knowledge of a wide range of manpower concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, and programs.
  2. Knowledge of a wide range of personnel (civilian and military) concepts, principles, operations, laws, and regulations.
  3. knowledge of a wide range of services concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; and practical knowledge of education, readiness, and budget execution concepts, principles, operations, and practices.
  4. Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance, and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies.
  5. Skill in managing the work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements, goals, and objectives within available resources.
