About the position: The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Snack Bar Manager in the economic and efficient operation of a coffee and food operation and any satellite facilities including Fit Pit, and this position is located at Flyers of the 35th Force Support Squadron Misawa AB.

This is a Regular full time category position; guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Duties

Help

Assists with planning, directing, and managing all phases of the restaurant which includes a full-service coffee bar. Implements higher-level directives to ensure high standards of food and beverage. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates menu planning, food service, purchase of supplies and equipment. Performs customer surveys to determine patron desires and satisfaction with the services provided. Makes recommendations for changes designed to improve service. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training. Provides guidance and instruction to staff members. Prepares work schedules for Baristas and Fit Pit Food Service Workers. Forecasts inventory for Flyers and Fit Pit, completes end of month retail inventory, as well as weekly ordering. Conducts Fire Safety and Food Inspections for Flyers and Fit Pit. Submits work orders for facility repair and improvement for Flyers and Fit Pit. Assists in the preparation and implementation of annual budget. Responsible for all daily monetary deposits, processing, and consolidation of AF Form 1876; to include proper change funds issued to employees, cash accountability. Makes change and completes appropriate forms. Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. May be required to operate a Government Motor Vehicle (GMV). Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have documented restaurant supervisory or management experience and/or experience of any kind of restaurant experience. Must have responsible experience which has demonstrated the ability to manage a business activity. May have been gained in an operating, administrative, or managerial position which included responsibility for various phases of operations, such as equipment and supply accountability, financial management, or planning organizational or club activities. Responsible experience related to the management aspects of food, beverage, or hospitality service. Experience in cash handling procedures and sales operations such as receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, and use of cash accountability control methods are preferred.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Certificate and Manager's ServSafe certification. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check. Must possess a valid driver's license and 4EJ. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
