Duties

Help
  • Plan and layout work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
  • Perform pretest, functional, and final testing; final tuning; alignment; and/or calibration of complex electronic systems and components.
  • Install, overhaul, repair, fabricate, and/or modify electronically controlled industrial systems and components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electronic control systems to include disassemble, clean, reassemble, and calibration.

  • Incumbent must possess or able to obtain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Position is "Mission Essential" and is subject to schedule/unscheduled overtime as well as emergency call back during non duty hours.
  • This position requires a pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Incumbent must have successfully completed or be able to complete Tridium Controls Systems- Niagara Framework Technical Certification within 6 months of Entrance on duty.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Industrial Control Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Positioning and attaching parts with detailed procedures, testing by visual inspection, and tracing electrical signals of mechanical/electronic control systems, and complex electronic systems with a variety of multi-component assemblies and devices.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: The work requires considerable walking, climbing, standing, and stooping commonly encountered to gain access to equipment. The work requires lifting and carrying test equipment and tools weighing 25-30 pounds. Motor Vehicle Operation. Light physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
  • Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in equipment rooms. There is exposure to high noise levels, high pressure lines (steam, air, water, refrigerants) and high temperature from furnaces, steam lines, boilers, etc. while repairing and troubleshooting equipment. Motor Vehicle Operation. Is exposed to driving hazards and is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of driving accidents. Working conditions have been considered in grading the job.
