The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Buckley Space Force Base is searching for a Depot Maintenance Logistician (NH-0346-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).
Description:
Space Sensing (SBIRS/JTAGS) Depot Maintenance Logistician. This position supports a critical missile warning mission at Buckley Space Force Base for the SBIRS and JTAGS programs. You will be a member of a team that solves problems for the operator and finds solutions to their capability and sustainment needs. Your role is critical to the sustainment of a missile warning mission critical to national security. You will prioritize contractor depot support for emergency responses and ensure warehouse support provides the capabilities needed to disposition, store, and replenish critical spares inventory. You will be one of the onsite government representatives for warehouse shipping, storage, and inventory needs. You will represent your leadership and organization in meetings with multiple operational and contractor stakeholders. Ideal Candidate:
Experience in assessing and taking action to support Depot Level 2 Emergency Level Depot Maintenance (EDLM), Urgent Level Depot Maintenance (UDLM), and Technical Assistance (TA) requests from USSF operators from a Program Maintenance and Logistical perspective.
Government Acquisition/Sustainment process understanding. Experience analyzing system sparing needs, obsolescence mitigation, warehouse shipping procedures, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services (DS), and contractor inventory management oversight at a USSF operational locations both in the US and overseas.
Prioritize and manage hardware, software, cybersecurity and network contractor Depot cases to support a USSF weapon system.
Having working-level knowledge and experience with agile developmental systems like Confluence, JIRA, Platform 1 or similar online collaborative working environment.
Strong and effective communicator using multiple methods (in-person, phone, email) if one does not yield results; strong emphasis on inter-personal relationship-building with critical stakeholders and in-person communication whenever possible.
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in logistics, information science, Information systems management, program management or technology management (preferred).
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate.
2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment process and integrated life cycle management.
3. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases. Gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.
This position is on-site and eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period. Must live in commuting distance to the office
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position.
This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee is expected to meet the functional area certification requirements within the timeframe range of 1 - 5 years from appointment date into the position.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
PCS and relocation funding are not available.
