About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center on Patrick SFB, FL. This position includes the opportunity to enroll in Health and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement, Annual and Sick Leave.

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Must be able to life objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

DUTIES:
Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jul 22, 2024, Aug 1, 2024, and closing on Aug 9, 2024. Announcement will close once position is filled.

Plans, managers, organizes, develops and administers a comprehensive year round base fitness and sports programs for both Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral AFS serving a population of over 26K with support agreements with other military agencies. Utilizes and complies with AF, DoD, and local directives to coordinate and/or schedule the use of indoor and outdoor facilities including tennis courts, racquetball courts, gymnasium, lap pool, running tracks, athletic fields and running trails. Implements the AF Fitness Program, Fitness Assessment Cell element. Ensures the administration of bi-annual fitness assessments. Budgets, procures, equipment and staffs FAC Component to ensure a viable fitness and health screening program that adequately identifies deployment and readiness IAW AF requirements. Develo9ps, justifies and tracks O&M budget. Annually updates long range capital improvement plan for facilities and equipment. Annually projects APF funding required for core programs. Routinely justifies need for unfunded money to ensure compliance with AFI. Coordinates with Civil Engineers, Communications, Public Health, Bio-environmental, Safety, and other abase organizations regarding requirement for maintenance and repair of fitness and sports facilities and purchase/installation of new equipment. Coordinates and implements plans and policy to ensure facilities are compliant with AF and OSHA directives. Recommends new facility construction based on meeting customer needs and replacement of degraded facilities. Coordinates with and assists engineers on requirements related to construction or renovation of new indoor and outdoor fitness and athletic facilities. Approves sports by laws, develops/maintains facilities, personnel, program and financial records for APF/NAF Budgets. Develops and implements fitness, health, wellness, military readiness, family and inclusive (wounded warrior) programs to accommodate the wide range of interest both fitness and sports activities in traditional as well as trendy and specialized activities. Practices sound position management. Supervises the subordinate workforce, ensuring successful operational and mission requirements are achieved. Ensures education in and compliance with security directives and good safety and health directives in work areas. Ensures weekly inspections are conducted on fitness and sports equipment fields, and facilities with discrepancies documented and forwarded to appropriate office for corrective action. Conductions ongoing fitness training with staff and customers. Mangers personal service contracts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Three years of specialized experience that demonstrated ability to plan, supervise, administer, and carry out a fitness and sports program that includes a variety of individual/team sports activities and to teach the techniques of various sports. A bachelor's degree or higher degree in physical fitness or sports/recreation related filed is desired. Must be able to get CPR/AED/Blood Bourne Pathogens/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to supervise, train and schedule subordinates. Strong interpersonal, administrative and computer skills are desirable. Must read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers. At times, will be required to work on an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays and will work rotating schedules. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) if required.

Education
