The United States Space Force (USSF) at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station is searching for a Communications Test Manager, 21 CS (NH-0301-02, GS-5/11 Equivalent).
Description:
Candidate will utilize knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment architecture to configure systems for testing. Operates the Communications Processor System (Cheyenne Mountain Complex and the Alternate Missile Correlation Center), and the Cheyenne Mountain Message Processor.
Candidate will utilize knowledge of the space surveillance network architecture to configure and troubleshoot space surveillance network circuits. On occasion works with Test Requestor's test personnel to review data format and message routing when troubleshooting message processing.
Candidate will utilize knowledge of test procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment and Space Surveillance networks during Test Control configurations of the operational and test platforms.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience, military or civilian, of the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment weapons system and its functionality and/or Ballistic Missile Early Warning Sensor preferred. Knowledge of system isolation testing concepts a plus.
Recruitment Key Skills and Abilities:
l. Knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications concepts, principles, and practices.
2. Knowledge of a wide range of computer techniques, requirements, methods, sources, and procedures as well as system software and systems development life cycles and including systems documentation, design development, configurations management, systems integration and testing.
3. Knowledge of missile warning sensor and forward user operations and configurations.
4. Ability to operate a Correlation Center (i.e. Cheyenne Mt Complex or Alternate Missile Warning Center at Offutt AFB) Technical Control Facility.
5. Knowledge of Integrated TW/AA message data formats and message routing within the Integrated TW/AA network (correlation centers, sensors, forward users).
6. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work.
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI Clearance
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
This position is not eligible for telework.
