Duties

Help
  • Analyze historical financial operating data and trends to prepare and/or validate estimates.
  • Prepare straightforward estimates of future requirements for a small operating program.
  • Compile and coordinate the presentation materials for assigned area of the budget.
  • Prepare a variety of reports related to the status of funds, obligations, and workload.
  • Provide routine advice and assistance on financial matters issues or data pertaining to program modifications.
  • Assemble and develop background data and documentation in support of requested program budgets for reference and evidence in agency budget hearings.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-09 level if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

A. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing budget or financial management analysis to support a program or organization; preparing budget presentation materials, reports, or data; preparing data summaries for inclusion in reports on budget formulation and execution; and collecting and organizing budgetary data OR

B. Completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B., or J.D. Education must be related to the position to be qualifying; OR

C. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.

  • Factor 2: Ability to compile and interpret financial data to support organizational goals.
  • Factor 3: Ability to prepare and present financial reports, presentations, and other written materials using automated systems and applications.
  • Factor 4: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and coordinating work activities with others.
