Duties

Help
  • Responsible for performing day to day funds execution and management transactions of all appropriations for assigned PdMs
  • Review written documents, examines accounting records, and uses automated data systems to ensure budget ceilings are not exceeded.
  • Develop budgetary methods, procedures, formats, and techniques of analysis and presentation relating to funds management.
  • Research audited transactions and gather substantiating documents for Audit samples.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II Certified position. This certification must be obtained within 24 months of appointment. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. ***Experience Required***

General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the NH-01 or equivalent (GS-04) pay grade level, which includes: 1) Managing a budget in accordance with applicable regulations and laws; 2) Utilizing various accounting systems and databases to manage funds and research financial transactions.; and 3) Applying various problem-solving strategies to determine root causes of financial discrepancies. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-01(GS-04 equivalent).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. (You must provide a copy of your Bachelor's Transcripts)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all DOD and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action. This is a requirement for the NH-02 position.

THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code,section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all DOD and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action. This is a requirement of NH-03 position.

Education
