Summary

You will serve as the Administrative Specialist in the Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Directorate, Resource and Integration Office (SA-A) at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). You will manage the Awards program and serve as the backup to the Lead Administrative Officer of SMA and to the Directorate Facility Utilization Manager. You will prepare awards, review awards, and make recommendations to the SMA management team on improvements. You will also oversee the Division Exchange Funds budget.

Help
  • Manages the awards program for the Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Directorate which includes honor calls, Employee of the Month, and external calls.
  • Informs supervisors of the award types available to them, ensuring award justifications meet the criteria and making recommendations on the best course of action for award recipients.
  • Notifies the manager, Awards Office, and SMA personnel of employees' award selections.
  • Manages the awards budget and the SMA employee performance appraisal cycle for the Directorate.
  • Facilitates and implements Directorate assessments for near- and long-term master planning of space utilization.
  • Ensures satisfactory completion of office movement and modifications by performing walk downs of affected areas.
  • Serves as the backup to the Lead Administrative Officer of SMA and to the Directorate Facility Utilization Manager (DFUM).

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

  • Coordinating, facilitating, and integrating administrative actions and activities across a diverse organization;
  • Implementing, and managing an administrative program/project; and
  • Communicating administrative program/project requirements and features with managers, employees, and/or customers.
