Duties

Help
  • Operate all types and sizes of earth moving equipment and attachments to specifications set by engineer.
  • Perform crane operations and use attachments to precisely load /unload a variety of material
  • Produce finished grade on roads.
  • Operate a 5-ton semi-trailer/truck equipped with a low-boy trailer
  • Opens and builds drainage ditches.

  • Incumbent will be required to work outdoors during inclement or during hot/cold weather conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CDL with tanker and hazardous waste endorsements within 90 days of employment

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the full range duties which include operating bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, trench diggers, and a dump truck to cut, move, excavate, dig, load unload and transport earth, sand, stone, and other materials. I am considered an expert in and work with a high degree of independence. I am skilled in Operating mobile cranes equipped with 40 to 100 foot boom, using such attachments as block and lines with multiple loading hooks, rope or cable sling, drum and ton container hooks, lifting magnet, clamshell bucket, and dragline bucket, in performing a variety of tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving of chemical material, including toxic and irritant materials, weapons and spare parts, bauxite, fluorspar, and other strategic materials stored. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Continuous physical activity and muscular efforts are required in operating of numerous levers and brakes. Makes continual control changes or changes to the position of attachments.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed outside in an open driver's seat or within an enclosed cab and on flat land, slopes, steep inclines, and grades; subject to burns, noise, dust, dirt, fumes and jolts. Constant danger of tipping or overturning vehicles.

This position serves an Engineering Equipment Operator located at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, AR which is a subordinate installation of JMC.
