Duties

Help
  • Assists skilled trades or craftsmen by retrieving tools or materials.
  • Assist higher-graded employees in removing, loading, unloading, and disposing brush.
  • Preparing surfaces, priming, and painting various surfaces.
  • Opening and unpacking cartons.
  • Operate motorized government vehicles to transport supplies and/or materials to various locations through out the project.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

WG-03 Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): I have the ability to perform common maintenance procedures. I can load and unload vehicles. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical effort: The duties require light physical effort which involves exertion such as moderate lifting and carrying light objects weighing up to 50 pounds and walking, bending, stooping, standing and reaching.
  • Working Conditions: Work may be outdoors, but usually not in bad weather. May be exposed to drafty, noisy, dusty, and dirty conditions. the work involves standing and walking on concrete floors and uneven terrain.
