The purpose of this position is to supervise and manage the behavioral health interdisciplinary team. Help

  • Direct behavioral health work by providing clinical administrative and technical management support.
  • Provides skilled medical, social, and psychosocial diagnostic and treatment service to individuals, couples, families and group.
  • Coordinates service provision to patients and consults with professional colleagues as needed to promote optimal patient care.
  • Assists with the more difficult cases, assesses the situations involved, and prepares reports of findings with recommendations as to appropriate actions within the framework of mental health resources available.
  • Maintain patient records and chart clinical data utilizing approved automated software systems.

Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: Master's degree in social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Provide direct patient care including counseling, therapy, crisis intervention, and case management; Manage referrals to outside cases as needed; Oversee subordinates and evaluate work performance.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
In order to be considered for his position, an applicant must possess a valid, current, unrestricted license or certification in a state as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW) in accordance with State or professional standards. (Note: You must attach a copy of your licensure/certification with an expiration date to your application).

You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

This position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. **This is an open until filled position. ** The first certificate of eligibles will be pulled after 5 days. Subsequent certificates will be pulled on every 2 weeks until the position has been filled. The announcement is subject to be closed once a selection has been made.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a federal employee. IHS may offer newly appointed Federal employees' credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active-duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.

Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. At least a 1-year service agreement will be required.
