Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist in the Security Department of Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific.
  • You will process all official and un-official visit requests to the SWFPAC AO and command sponsored events to ensure visitor sponsorship, clearance, access, and need-to-know is maintained at all times.
  • You will assist Information Security Specialist in the protection of classified information across the command.
  • You will implement and manage Access Control systems, processes, procedures, and databases to effectively control access to the area of operations and secure areas.
  • You will execute, document, and manage access control security files, access profile sheets, and Badge Record Cards to ensure records are kept in accordance with local directives, policies, and procedures.
  • You will serve as a member of the Pass and ID staff to effectively implement the SWFPAC site-wide badging program.
  • You will issue badges, vehicle passes, and contraband authorization passes in accordance with local policy and procedures as needed.
  • You will provide input, utilization the chain of command on requirements, processes, and procedures pertaining to the SWFPAC access control systems in order to streamline the access control program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate (SFPC) within their first two years of Employment.

Qualifications

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting, analyzing, and implementing security policies and procedures for granting access and applying security regulations to support operations.

For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing and evaluating requests for security clearance and applying security regulations to support command operations.

Substitution of education for GS-09:
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

Completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
~OR~
Completion of a LL.B. or J.D., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

Substitution of education for GS-07:
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

Completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement

This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
