This National Guard position is for a TITLE 5 PROJECT COORDINATION SPECIALIST (MI 127th WG), Position Description Number NGT0043000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, National Guard.
U.S. Citizens.
Area 1: Open to on-board permanent employees of the MIARNG or MING (Tenure I or II status).
Area 2: Open to current T5 employees from other federal agencies, and any qualified U.S. citizen candidates.

This is a Temporary Indefinite vacancy for an appointment of 4 years. The hiring agency has the option to extend this appointment up to a maximum total of 4 years. In the event a permanent employee is accepted for this indefinite position, there will be a change in his/her tenure from permanent to indefinite.
Serves as the Project Coordination Specialist responsible for gathering, coordinating and analyzing data, developing plans, reports, providing analysis and recommendations on various one-of-a-kind and non-recurring projects/programs. Applies appropriate management analysis techniques, theories, concepts, and practices to plan, direct, and coordinate command efforts.
1. Analyzes, coordinates and/or performs a variety of special projects/program assignments and studies which lead to resolution of management problems and improvement of operations. Independently develops a plan of action, recommends solutions.
2. Provides management information, advice, and assistance to the State ARNG/ANG Command staff, Directorates or Group Commanders on programs/projects assigned. The incumbent researches current Law, DoD, Department of the Army (DA), Department of the Air Force (DAF), NGB, and State policy, and uses judgment to decide appropriate policy and procedures in relation to current projects, taskings, issues and concerns.
3. Serves as a Project Manager for emerging projects assigned to/by the State. Responsible for establishing project teams, managing budget requirements throughout project life-cycle, leads team in identification of goals and objectives, stakeholders, tasks, associated risks, and milestones.
4. Responsible for the work of assigned personnel. Performs the supervisory and managerial responsibilities.

Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.

Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.
