Recruiting/Staffing (includes but not limited to):

  • Assists HR Specialists assigned to the Recruiting Section with preparation of vacancy announcements, qualification determinations for vacancies below the NF-4 or equivalent level and other work related to recruitment actions as needed.
  • Ensures employees official personnel files (OPFs) are organized properly and all pertinent documentation is filed properly and timely.
  • Prepares and inputs Personnel Action Requests (PARs) into SAPHR.
  • Serves as timekeeper for HR and other designated CNIC Headquarters' staff.
General (includes but not limited to):
  • Generates statistical reports (e.g., SAP reports) for use by various staff within the CNIC enterprise, Department of the Navy, and/or Department of Defense.
  • Develops spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, other databases) to support work associated with one or more of the HR functional areas.
  • Receives and answers general questions from customers related to one or more of the HR functional areas and refers questions of a more complex nature to HR subject matter expert for action/response.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possesses the following:

  • Two years of specialized experience providing a variety of Human Resources administrative support related assignments in one or more of the following functional areas: 1) classification; 2) recruitment; 3) employee relations; 4) labor relations; 5) benefits; or 6) retirement).
  • Knowledge of and skill in applying general HR theories, concepts, and/or practices to perform a variety of support related assignments.
  • Knowledge of formats, punctuation, grammar, and clerical steps to process and prepare correspondence and documents in an accurate manner.
  • Knowledge of Federal records procedures and regulations (e.g., documentation retention requirements, OPF structure).
  • Ability to provide general advice and assistance on interpretation of basic HR policy and regulations related to the specific HR functional area to which assigned.
  • Skill in the use of a Human Resources Information System (e.g., SAPHR, Defense Civilian Personnel Data System).
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to the specific HR functional area to which assigned.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
