Duties

Help
  • Serves as a design and technical support Audio Visual, Video Telecommunications and IP Television (IPTV) Engineer for DLA worldwide.
  • Performs as the technical specialist for Voice and Video Collaboration, audio-visual, IPTV and works with respective local area network (LAN)
  • contd and wide area network (WAN) teams to aid in resolving complex communications problems during installations, deployments and sustainment.
  • Responsible for providing updates and improvements to AV, IPTV and VTC/SV program operations.
  • Develops, documents, briefs and justifies recommended solutions and/or program improvements including cost/benefit assessments.
  • Prepares and recommends policies and procedures; and provides guidance and resource planning for lower grade VTC personnel
  • contd serving as Forward Support technicians in outlying CONUS and OCONUS areas including sites in Germany, Italy, Bahrain, Kuwait and other locations.
  • Serves as an implementation project subject matter expert (SME) for projectors, VTC endpoints, CODECS, Encoders, and Audio Video controllers deployed throughout the agency.
  • Provides and oversees the full range of local site user/customer AV/IPTV/VTC/SV support services and identifies, isolates and resolves device connectivity problems.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (NETWORK/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

- Implements, trouble-shoots, resolves issues and operates Video Telepresence (VTC) communications systems.
- Develops and interprets policies, procedures and strategy governing the planning and delivery of Video Collaboration services and manage large scale projects.
- Conducts initial survey of site large and small conference rooms to determine requirements.
- Organizes, prepares and conducts oral and informational briefings and customer training associated with video telepresence etiquette and secure video telepresence.
- Organizes, prepares and writes correspondence and reports.
- Monitors and participates in contract development and modification.

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed:

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
