Duties

Help

  • Incumbent sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold foods including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages.
  • Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping and dicing.
  • Makes coffee, tea, ice water, and other beverages.
  • Cleans equipment in kitchen and dining area.
  • Clears and cleans dining tables, sweeps, mops and waxes floors
  • Moves heavy garbage cans, and assists in unloading supply trucks and storing heavy supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
  • Must be 18 years old and able to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Incumbent must have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility.
  • Constantly standing or walking; frequently lifting or moving objects from 30 to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to multi-task and use good judgment
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to take multiple orders upon customer's requests.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food.

Additional information

  • Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within 30 days of employment is required.
  • Certification for front desk operations and other requirement outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide obtained within established time frame.
  • This position involves work on workdays and may involve weekends, and holidays, as well as rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours.
