The United States Space Force (USSF) at Buckley Space Force Base is searching for a Delta Inspection Team Manager, SBD2/IG (NH-1801-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
This is a term position not to exceed 13 mos. This is a term position not to exceed 13 mos. The position is eligible to be extended and has the opportunity to convert to full-time if the incumbent decides not to return from overseas.

To administer the Inspector General's Installation Inspection Team program. Under leadership from the Director of Inspections, prepares and administers the inspection team program for Delta/Center (or equivalent). Supports the Inspector General (IG) in the development, review, and implementation of standard operating procedures; supplements to MAJCOM/FLDCOM policies and practices to achieve maximum unit/installation readiness. Responsible for evaluating Emergency Management (EM) and other required readiness programs. Ensures Inspection Team members are qualified and trained to evaluate all critical wartime functions in accordance with Department of the Air Force Instructions (DAFIs), higher headquarters guidance, and unit/installation plans. Confers with host and tenant commanders on inspection requirements and matters that affect the overall readiness of forces; and develops Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) as necessary. Works with federal, state, and local officials to coordinate inspections to evaluate joint emergency responses.

Ideal Candidate:
- Solid 1801 Inspection Specialist who is open to learning the Inspection training role. IAW AF guidance, incumbent must attend the DAFIA IG Training Course-Inspections within 90 days (180 days for ARC) of assignment to an IG position. Successful completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD and AF regulations.
- Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to participate in the assessment and development of multifaceted plans and programs for conducting operations, and to adapt precedents or existing strategies to meet unusual needs, special demands, and determine feasible solutions to meet mission requirements.
- Experience working with and interfacing with senior leaders. Ability to organize work, develop and present oral presentations, briefings and prepare written analyses as well as lead and/or serve on steering committees.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret/NCS clearance and successfully pass a drug test.

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • This position is eligible for telework 2-4 days a pay period.
  • Position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications.
  • AW AF guidance, incumbent must attend the DAFIA IG Training Course-Inspections within 90 days (180 days for ARC) of assignment to an IG position.
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
  • Selectee will be required to sign a Statement of Understanding due to position being obligated to an Overseas Returnee.
