Duties

Help

Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules. Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, runs tests to verify operability and functionality. Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of servers. Performs assignments using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration and systems engineering. Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize
interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities. Provides information and instructions related to the maintenance and service process. Runs systems backups. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff. Interprets IT policies, standards and guidelines. Develops network usage policies and procedures. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.

  • Appointment subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. Must currently possess or obtain and maintain a satisfactory Tier 3R investigation IAW AR 215-3.
  • Ordinarily Residents in Korea are not eligible for employment under country "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA).
  • One year probationary period is required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport, U.S. driver's license and within 30 days of arrival at duty station, must obtain driver's license in host country where employed.
  • You may be expected for occasional travel within OCONUS and CONUS.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.

IT related experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:
-Principles and methods for integrating information systems components;
-Performance tuning tools and techniques;
-System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques;
-Systems administration methods; and
-IT security principles.
OR
In addition to the above, all candidates must possess IT-related experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level to include:

1. Attention to detail - Experience developing and completing detailed risk management reviews based upon thorough evaluation of the organization's mission and goals.
2. Customer service - Demonstrated experience providing assistance to both internal and external organizations and agencies in the areas of cybersecurity support, user needs, and system requirements. Experience assessing customers' needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
3. Oral communication - Experience conducting formal presentations and/or briefings to audiences at varying levels of hierarchy and technical expertise.
4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills - Experience evaluating cyber security IT operations to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Higher Qualification: 3-5 years of working experience as IT Specialist (System/Network Administrator or Customer Support) in the Gaming Industry; specifically slot management systems. Preferred JunOS experience (CISCO/Linux experience could be substituted).

Must currently possess or obtain (within 12 months of employment) and maintain a minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent or higher certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians.

Preferred: Master's Degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Information systems or Software Engineering.
