About the position:
This position will be assigned to Marketing and Publicity office.

This position is a Regular Full-Time position. You are guaranteed 35 hours, however you could work up to 40 hours per week. As a RFT employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and benefits, to include Health/Dental, Life Insurance, Federal Long-Term Care Insurance, Employer Matching 401K and NAF Retirement.

Duties

Help

Provides support to the 42d Force Support Squadron Services Marketing and Publicity office by serving as the computer graphic artist, illustrator, and visual information specialist for the developing of marketing and promotional materials for Services activities and functions. Using graphics design software, scanners and other print shop hardware and software available, designs and executes computer generated visual materials such as visual aids, illustrations. graphs. charts, menus, posters, flyers, logos, pamphlets. brochures. signs, newspaper supplements, newsletters. magazines, base and other maps, WebPages and other graphic support required in the effective marketing and publicizing of Squadron programs and facilities.

Creates marketing and publicity materials for special events and those of a seasonal nature.

Researches sources to ensure all products are suitable for the information and events advertised, checks publicity for accuracy and appropriateness.

Makes suggestions so that the best form of visual material is used to publicize all Service activities.

Researches and recommends sources of equipment, materials and supplies needed to accomplish various work orders.

Responsible for creating print ads, web ads, banners. posters and other promotional material to advertise the events for all activities.

Works closely with Activity Managers and visits each Services activity periodically to design. evaluate, and implement new publicity media and products to further publicize activity programs. Obtains and consolidates data from each activity.

Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible experience in the operation of computer desktop publishing programs, graphics, photos, and graphic
software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) to be proficient in the visual composition and layout as described. Must have specialized experience or knowledge which includes designing advertisements, posters and other promotional materials. Must include experience or knowledge on proper procedures for correspondence, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit assignments. Must have knowledge of the priorities, commitments, policies. and program goals of the organization sufficient to independently perform non-routine assignments, with only minimal supervision. Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform research, select, arrange and compile material and maintain organized files. Must have ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work independently. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English. Knowledge of USAF regulation and guidelines, official AF logos, paid advertising, endorsement disclaimer and copyright credits for publishing is highly desirable. A bachelor's degree in graphic arts/design and/or Web Design (or acceptable Diploma programs) may be substituted for work experience.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
