Duties

Help

  • Uses advanced knowledge of Technical Operations maintenance processes and logging to identify potentially systemic operational safety issues.
  • Provides support to the Operational Safety Program Managers during the review process of high visibility/focus events.
  • Determines the OPR for Technical Operations aviation safety concerns. Communicates identified issues to the OPR and tracks any actions to completion. Reports status and any concerns as required.
  • Ensures that corrective actions requests are complete and actionable.
  • Ensures that corrective action tracking is timely and effective.
  • Works collaboratively with AJI and AOV to determine potential areas for Audits or Assessments. Reviews findings for accuracy, communicates identified issues to the OPR, and track any actions to completion. Report status and any concerns as required.
  • Identifies the appropriate Technical Operations representative to participate in AJI and AOV Audits and Assessments.
  • Participates on AJI’s ATO Runway Safety workgroup. Reviews runway safety events to identify potential safety issues and mitigations.
  • Serve as the focal point for AJI to identify the Tech Ops representative on ERT launches. Supports ERT launches as a SME when required.
  • Participates in safety briefings with ATO Safety & Technical Training (AJI) and Technical Operations (AJW) on NAS safety issues identified through data analysis, event reporting, and corrective action requests reported in FAA operational voluntary safety reporting systems such as T-SAP, ATSAP-X, SAFER-FCT and Tech Ops quality control/assurance programs such as NASTEP, AJI-3 Audits and AOV audits.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is defined as:

  • Knowledge of the Technical Operations Quality Control processes.
  • Broad knowledge of NAS equipment and maintenance processes.
  • Experience in retrieving and analyzing maintenance and logging data to identify systemic issues.
  • Experience working across organizational lines to manage programs and/or projects.
