Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the Special Operations Command, Pacific (SOCPAC) Deputy Special Security Officer (SSO).
  • You will ensure compliance with all applicable policies and directives.
  • You will assist with the management of classified Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF) operations.
  • You will assist with the management of the Command’s programs, facilities, policy, training, inspections, oversight, and operations of the security access and badging system.
  • You will plan the installation and facilitate upkeep of personnel access controls and other security technology to secure a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  • You will assist with the management of the Personnel, Physical, and Information SCI Security training program to meet the mission objectives for employees and operational requirements for the Command.
  • You will integrate the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values into the processes of the Command’s SCI security program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to perform occasional travel.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying comprehensive knowledge of Physical Security, Personnel Security, and Information Security to perform the following:
1) Developing, evaluating, and implementing security programs for intelligence information systems with the objective of detecting and preventing hostile intelligence penetration
2) Conducting physical security assessments and inspections for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) to enhance physical protection
3) Analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, and candidates for employment in order to determine their suitability & security eligibility
4) Identifying materials, processes, and information that require protection and recommending the level of security classification and other protections required.
5) Effectively communicating Security related information orally and in writing.

Additional information

Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Relocation expenses or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.

PCS is not authorized.
