Assigns, monitors, and evaluates staff members' performance; provides timely and effective feedback to employees; conducts regular formal and informal coaching, mentoring, or counseling sessions and prepares comprehensive annual evaluations.
Oversees and coordinates analytical and statistical projects and programming techniques necessary to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret unique and complex data sets. Provides strategic and technical guidance and hands-on support.
Codes with languages such as python or R and uses SQL and other data processing and analytics tools and software to analyze data sets and uses data visualization tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau, MS Excel, ArcGIS, and others to generate reports.
Makes use of U.S. government data from the intelligence community and/or data available on Top Secret systems to conduct advanced analytics and develop models to support foreign policy development, operational decision making, and strategic planning.
Liaises with interlocutors in the interagency and the intelligence community to make accurate and informed recommendations as to data science approaches that will answer the foreign policy or business question at hand.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

IN ADDITION to the basic requirements, this position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing data analytic solutions using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
Experience conducting analyses using software and/or programming languages that include Python, R, and SQL to convey statistical or technical information, and deliver data reports to stakeholders.
Experience managing and processing large volumes of data to develop findings, inferences, conclusions, and recommendations.
