Summary

You will serve as a Lead Supply Technician in the Material Management Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Defense Industrial Base/Major Range and Test Facilities Base of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help
  • You will provide on-the-job training to employees, maintain current knowledge and answer employee questions on policies, procedures, and processes.
  • You will assist with conducting quality control inspections of the Customer Services Team.
  • You will lead team members that conduct technical validation, processes requisitions and requisition maintenance.
  • You will provide various services to include requisition processing, customer support, and receipt control functions that include open-purchase receipts and invoices related to the government purchase card program.
  • You will review, process and submit various reports and documents.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing supply support processes and procedures including material requirements, identification, procurement, material receipt and inventory management. Examples of specialize experience should include some or all of the following; 1) Answering inquiries from customers/employees on supply policy, procedures, and process; 2) Assisting to resolve technical/operational process challenges; 3) Utilizing automated databases for supply requisitioning, and inventory management; 4) Assisting with quality control inspections; 5) Preparing reports, correspondence and presentations to support customer requirements.
