Duties

Help

Researches, evaluates and tests new and emerging technology solutions including creating written evaluation reports to facilitate the process of adding new solutions to supported software and hardware lists for the IT Support Contract (ITSC). Solution categories include desktop and laptop computers including HP Inc and Apple products, displays, printers, scanners, and software. Creates and maintains operating system images and deployments in the modern management solutions supporting our Windows and macOS computers. Develops, evaluates, and tests deployment packages using device management solutions for software, operating system upgrades, patching, and system setting changes. Provides high-tier technical support to users, support vendors and other technical staff and prepares and maintains support documentation. Manages and maintains technology labs and IT demo center assets; procures and inventories new technology assets. Conducts compatibility evaluations of new software versions for applications supported by other CIO groups to ensure no adverse impact to the operating system or other applications. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Have a full working knowledge and experience with the multiple versions of Windows OS servers and/or equivalent Windows Server Administration.
  • Provide all levels of OS support for all servers and shall participate in the following activities at the direction of the SAA and PGDM to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Manage the applications that are on the servers and maintain server certificates.
  • Transitioning of business applications from lower environments to Production.
  • Support activities involve use of virtualization, management software products that provide management, administration, provisioning, and enables automation of Windows OS.
  • Use of the supporting tools for this implementation are required for automated system monitoring as each application is brought on board in Dev, Test and then transitioned to the Production environment.
  • Ability to design, develop, and document technical solutions, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures and change requests.
  • Experience deploying, upgrading, and maintaining business systems and applications.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SQL and PowerShell scripts/processes.
  • Operational knowledge of creating, renewing, and maintaining SSL/TLS certificates.
  • Operational experience of database structures and operations, (MS-SQL).
  • Operational experience with MS Server administration. Including service accounts, security groups, deployments and routing application / server updates, FTP, SFTP (vShell), etc.

  • This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance.

Education

High School Diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
