Duties

Help
  • Plans, coordinates and develops components of instructional design based on the findings of occupational analysis as well as consulting with customers to identify their learning needs and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborates with customers to identify training goals; works with subject matter experts (SME's) and instructional design specialists to develop engaging/effective course content and evaluation tools to monitor effectiveness of program delivery.
  • Conducts needs assessments and analyzes the information obtained in order to anticipate individual or organizational training and development needs and ensures curricula is outcome-focused and meets learning objectives.
  • Designs and delivers training curriculum to small and large groups in a variety of on-line or in-person venues to include classroom, online learning, webinars, and social learning.
  • Evaluates all aspects of education and training programs to include policies and procedures, curricula, instructional methods/techniques, adequacy and utilization of training aids and devices, facilities, equipment, testing and student counseling.
  • Coordinates full range of project management duties including project plan development and monitoring, budget preparation and monitoring, resource assessment, course scheduling, vendor relations and evaluation.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as applying the principles, practices and techniques of adult learning theory to meet business needs; evaluating customer needs and requirements in the development or delivery of instructional design plans, course content, teaching strategies; and evaluating education and training programs for alignment with practical application skills in a business environment.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GS-12 grade level
