Duties

Help
  • As the primary investigator for the Army Prevention Force Modernization Proponent (PFMP) data, analyzes a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights and provide expert technical guidance.
  • Provide quick reaction analytic capability for the PFMP.
  • Formulates methodologies to quantify issues, evaluates measures of effectiveness, and determines the relative worth of competing alternatives.
  • Serves as an ORSA Project Manager in directing and conducting special ad hoc studies and analyses related to PFMP matters.
  • Provides systematic exploration of problems of an unprecedented nature or of problems that have not previously been susceptible to analysis by the operations research approach.
  • Utilizes tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, Structured Query Language (SQL), R, Python, and other data analytic tools as necessary.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.(Transcripts must be attached)

Specialized Experience Statement:
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) analyzing and assessing a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights and expert technical guidance for achieving identified goals and measuring the effectiveness of programs related to the prevention of harmful behaviors, (for example, sexual assault, harassment, suicide prevention, domestic violence and child abuse); and (2) experience in ONE of the following (a) developing data set processes and analyzing complex data elements and systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships in order to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models; or (b) applying advanced operations research techniques for quantitative and qualitative analysis; or (c) applying advanced operations research and data analysis techniques to solve complex problems related to the prevention of harmful behaviors.

Education
