Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses work processing software to produce a variety of documents. For example, uses database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, or calculate and retrieve data for reports.
  • Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using personal computer or workstation that is networked or linked to other computers or workstations throughout the work area or organization.
  • Types a variety of material from rough or handwritten draft such as correspondence, forms, reports, messages, memorandums, etc, associated with organization function; incumbent may type a wide variety of material, where spacing arrangements are complicated, directly in final format without a rough draft and is responsible for correct spelling, paragraphing, grammar, and format.
  • Gathers data and documentation for special projects and prepares support materials.
  • Performs cash management and accountability duties that may include collecting or processing payments such as credit cards transactions, checks, and cash; incumbent in may prepare bank deposits and daily reports.
  • Answers telephone calls and receives visitors supplying requested information from own knowledge and/or office files, or refers caller and customers to the appropriate source.
  • Establishes and maintains files.
  • Position is a position of trust.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
