Duties

Help

  • Provides leadership, supervision, and direction to the Administrative Services Branch (ASB) staff through subordinate Team Leads and provides oversight and direction to Administrative Officers, Management Analysts and Program Analysts.
  • Coordinates the enhancement of NINDS administrative services, including establishing immediate and long-range goals, priorities, and plans, and making recommendations for an efficient and effective organizational structure that is customer service focused.
  • Participates with the Executive Officer, Deputy Executive Officer, and Program Office Chiefs in the development and implementation of administrative policy, new programs and the evaluation of existing programs.
  • Provides expert consultation and leadership in the areas of strategic change, organization design, business initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and talent development.
  • Represents the Deputy Executive Officer in relationships within the NINDS and NIH, interpreting policies, and solving problems that may hamper business operations.
  • Serves as the NINDS administrative coordinator in dealing with the Deputy and Associate Directors, Program Office Chiefs, and with other segments of the NINDS to achieve effective cooperation between the interrelated programs of the NINDS.
  • Oversees the creation and implementation of administrative tools designed to enhance the administrative management services provided at the NINDS.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Supervisory Management Analyst, GS-0343-15:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Leading studies employing qualitative (e.g., focus groups, individual interviews, observations) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies) assessment methods to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of information systems, human capital planning, and financial and budgeting operations; performing analytical studies related to management operating procedures and organizational productivity; reviewing and editing administrative standard operating procedures affecting parent and subordinate offices; and, writing official reports to senior management on findings, recommendations, and implementation plans for improvements to administrative operations.
