Duties

Help

  • Analyze transportation networks and nodes, apply modeling and analysis tools to predict system behavior, cope with and address poor and incomplete data.
  • Prepares, produces, and delivers accurate analytical products, quantitative and technically rigorous solutions to the warfighter, often on short timelines.
  • Conduct the full lifecycle of analysis, including scoping, research, data structuring, analysis, product development, delivery, and methodological advancement.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide analytic recommendations and solutions to our customers.
  • Explores, develops, evaluates and/or operationalizes new methodologies, technologies, or tools in order to enhance the organization's operational capabilities in the field of transportation and/or logistics.

Qualifications

Only applicants who meet the area of consideration are eligible to apply for this job. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the basic education and/or specialized experience requirements.

For DR-I: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience include experience applying systems thinking concepts and techniques; structured analysis principles; research and development; AND experience applying quantitative and qualitative analysis and investigative techniques in order to synthesize data, evaluate significant factors, and make recommendations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the DR-1/GS-07/9/11 broadband position in the federal service.

For DR-II: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to DR-I/GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience should include comprehensive knowledge of scientific design and development principles, methods and practices in identifying, formulating, evaluating, nurturing and promoting the generation and exchange of new theories, concepts, principles, methods, applications, and practices. Candidates should also display proficiency in applying systems thinking concepts and techniques; structured analysis principles; and cost- benefit analysis methods sufficient to evaluate the feasibility of proposed new development projects and the mission, operations and programs of customer organizations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the DR-II/GS-12/13 broadband position in the federal service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of national security issues, including political, economic, social and military issues, trends, organizations, regions, and/or sectors of interest.
  • Knowledge of transportation or logistics, modeling and analysis, research and development, or the application of modeling techniques and tools for the purposes of analysis of networks and systems.
  • Knowledge in transportation systems such as traffic engineering, road or rail operations and construction, military logistics systems, etc.
