Duties

Help
  • You will provide technical guidance to department and tenant commands to ensure proper segregation, containerization, labeling and disposal of regulated waste in accordance with Federal, State, local, and Navy instructions.
  • You will ensure all required paperwork is completed and available at the time of waste pick-up.
  • You will assist the Hazardous Waste Program Manager in implementation of resultant waste reduction programs for departments and tenant commands.
  • You will accompany lab samplers and coordinate sample locations with sampler in advance to ensure access to site and material being sampled.
  • You will participate in spill drills as required by response plans and assure compliance with emergency response duties.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience developing and implementing environmental programs, to include experience planning and scheduling work on a recurring basis 2) Experience making environmental work decisions within area of responsibility 3) Experience ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations and policies 4) Experience reviewing activities that could affect the Navy environmental posture or mission status to ensure environmental regulatory compliance 5) Experience updating management plans, determining applicability of environmental regulations, and facilitating mitigation efforts 6) Experience developing, tracking, and processing permit applications 7) Experience developing environmental requirement project narratives and inputting date into the programming database 8) Experience in providing advice to leaders and decision makers on development and implementation of technical policy and directives
