Duties

Help

Serves as a Program Analyst, within the Strategic Planning & Programs Branch. Assists the Directorate's Senior Planner in all the following areas:

  • Performs out-year budget formulation involving preparation of detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year estimates. Integrates programmatic and financial planning products from various sources into a coordinated strategic financial position.
  • Researches, assembles, and/or develops background, documentation, and quantitative data to support program funding requests. Reviews and analyzes changes in program plans and/or funding allocations to identify and recommend adjustments to funding.
  • Ensures program funding profiles across the Future Year Defense Program (FYDP) are credible in terms of realism, reasonableness, completeness, and consistency. Ensures consistency and accuracy between multiple planning and programming systems.
  • Presents long-range planning budgets to Directorate senior management, answers specific questions, and provides clarifying details. Prepares Descriptive Summaries for Congress. Coordinates all FYDP issues and inquiries with higher headquarters.
  • Reviews, assesses, and advises on long-term effects of new planning and programming guidelines issued by DoD, DAF, HQ AFMC, or HQ AFRL; new or revised legislation; Program Decision Memoranda; and Program Budget Decisions on assigned programs.

  • This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Business-Financial Management (K).

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the basic education and/or specialized experience requirements. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled.

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DO-01/GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work done at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service.
