Duties

Help
  • Plan and schedule work assignments on a daily or project-to-project bases within the instructions and time limits provided.
  • Where work progress indicates the needs for major changes in procedure or sequence, consults with supervisor to obtain approval
  • Make minor adjustments in procedures and sequence of operations as necessary to accomplish work effectively and economically.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and work order requirements.
  • Advise and counsel workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques.
  • Identify employee training needs and initiates recommendations to provide necessary training.

  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Manufacturing Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I can perform the work of a Manufacturing Supervisor, such as: planning work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinate employees; determining skills, personnel, materials and equipment required to complete assignments; establishing deadlines based on organization timelines/regulations; counseling employees on performance and problems to determine corrective action. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
