Help
  • Performs market research to determine availability, quality and cost reasonableness of parts.
  • Reviews equipment documentation, including manuals, drawings, catalogs, brochures, technical literature, and previous records, to identify information to insure purchase of proper supplies, material and/or parts.
  • Authorizes procurement action including the determination of whether or not certain items can be procured faster if bought locally using the Government Purchase Card.
  • Recommends and implements secondary supply actions, after long lead-time items have been identified, such as local purchase, or initiation of fabrication.
  • Determines and plans most efficient method of providing for supplies, parts and material.
  • Makes daily follow-up with supervisor to keep informed of supply status and needs, determines priority or urgent need to eliminate production delays created by shortage of parts.

  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifications

About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Supply Technician located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: interpreting and applying supply, inventory and requisition policies and procedures; experience receiving materials from various sources; experience using Government Purchase Card to purchase materials; experience reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and experience compiling and analyzing supply information and data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06.
