Duties

Help
  • At the GS-07, GS-09, and GS-11 level you will perform developmental duties, as assigned. At the Full Performance Level, GS-12, you will perform the duties below.
  • You will serve as Senior IT Specialist for NLSC commands within assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Provides daily operational support to commands while functioning under the administrative/managerial oversight.
  • You will ensure the organization’s strategic plans, mission, vision, and values are communicated to other local IT professionals.
  • You will identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization.
  • You will provide technical assistance to customers to minimize disruptions of computer operations, troubleshooting, escalation, and tracking of information technology (IT) problems.
  • You will monitor IT services and performs preventive maintenance and minor administration of the same to keep the systems optimized.
  • You will maintain and monitor network multi-function devices (MFDs).
  • You will assist in setting up of office teleconferencing and audio/video equipment and provide initial audio/visual training.
  • You will proactively identify, research, and propose opportunities to employ technical solutions to drive efficiency and improve mission accomplishment.
  • You will work with supported commands and collaborate with other technical specialists to identify, develop, and deploy effective technical solutions to identified needs.
  • You will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot courtroom presentation and communications equipment, including wireless networks, monitors and screens, software, audio/video recording equipment, and video chat and voice over internet protocol.
  • You will perform clerical and administrative reporting duties in connection with the court proceedings including, but not limited to, the recording of proceedings.

  • This is a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) position in specialty area, Technical Support Specialist/Customer Service and Technical Support you will be must comply with requirements for the position.
  • You may be required to perform occasional travel.
  • This is an Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT I) and you must obtain/maintain the appropriate baseline and computing environment certifications within six months of being assigned.
  • You must earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix.
  • You must participate in a continuous learning program with a minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CWSF related training.
  • You must meet the eligibility requirements for Recent Graduate appointment.

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for this position you must be a Recent Graduate who completed a qualifying associate, bachelor, master, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate within the last two years of the closing date of the announcement. Also, veterans who were unable to apply within two years of receiving my degree, due to military service obligations but are still within six years of graduation completion date with a qualifying degree. You must provide your transcripts with your application.

To qualify for the GS-2210-09 your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public applying established IT techniques, requirements, concepts, principles, and practices to perform the following:
1) Troubleshooting hardware and software problems to isolate causes of problems/faults
2) Providing advice and assistance to customers related to IT systems and equipment
3) Complying with cybersecurity regulations, policies, and practices.
4) Effectively communicating orally and in writing on matters related to Information Technology.

To qualify for the GS-2210-07 your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public applying established IT techniques, requirements, concepts, principles, and practices to perform the following:
1) Providing advice and assistance to customers related to IT systems and equipment
3) Complying with cybersecurity regulations, policies, and practices.
3) Effectively communicating orally and in writing on matters related to Information Technology.

Education

Basic Requirement to hold a 2210 series position in the federal service can be met by education or experience as shown below:
EDUCATION
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
EXPERIENCE
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification).
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

EDUCATIONAL SUBSTIUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
You may also qualify using education to substitute for specialized experience if you possess the following:

GS-07: 1full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement

GS-09: master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
Such education must have provided the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

You will serve as an IT Specialist (Customer Support) specialist in the Office of the Judge Advocate General, Technology, Operations, and Plans Division (Code 67), OJAG/NLSC. The duty station is the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
