As a Supervisory Immigration Detention Case Manager GS 0301 14, your typical work assignments may :

  • Leading and directing the efforts of a diverse workforce of permanent, contract, and detailed civilians.
  • Creating new systems and procedures (e.g. administrative support systems, internal management processes) to improve efficiency.
  • Serving as a senior and expert analyst on issues related to immigration and immigration detention.
  • Representing OIDO and CMD in engagements with both internal and external stakeholders and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships.
  • Maintaining a current knowledge and answer questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc. and obtain needed information or decisions.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

  • Managing, directing and coordinating the efforts of projects and programs.
  • Leading, conducting special projects or comprehensive studies to evaluate and resolve operating issues and problems.
  • Coordinating and managing fluctuating staff schedules to meet mission and production goals.
  • Applying detention provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and case related to immigration detention.
  • Managing DHS data storage and case tracking systems.
  • Applying, developing, implementing, reviewing and assessing immigration detention program operations and objectives.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade
Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
