Duties

Help
  • Drives a platform truck (tow truck) weighing up to 26,000 pounds to transport other vehicles, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions.
  • Ensures truck is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation.
  • Completes paperwork regarding wreck and/or impounded vehicles to include occasionally taking payment of services provided.
  • Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Applicant must be willing to work weekends on an intermittent basis.
  • Applicant must be willing to assist with other automotive shop related tasks as operational needs dictate.

Qualifications

1. Applicant must possess a valid Class D driver's license with F endorsement issued by the state in which employed.
2. Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate.
3. Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles.

PCS Costs

Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Allowances, differentials, or incentives will not be paid. These allowances may include Living Quarters Allowance (LQA), Temporary Quarters Subsistence Allowance (TQSA) and requires a Transportation Agreement in accordance (IAW) the provisions of the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR).
