Duties

Help
  • Plans and executes the activities relating to visits of U.S. and foreign dignitaries, serves as a Congressional go between.
  • Participates in legislative actions affecting the foundation's operation include providing feedback on draft amendments to United States African Development Foundation (USADF's) authorization legislation for consideration by Congress.
  • Serves as a team member in collaboration with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on legislative changes.
  • Promotes better understanding of and support for USADF programs by developing and implementing a legislative agenda on key priorities concerning USADF and affected African nations
  • Assists the President with developing an overall strategy for integrating the significant and noteworthy Congressional activities of USADF programs and missions.
  • Prepares for major technical meetings of USADF leaders with Very Important Person (VIPs), including senior leaders, international visitors, and members of Congress and staff.
  • Consults with senior leadership on the appropriate subjects for discussion, suggests alternatives and researches new material for future discussion.
  • In cooperation with the President, develops, implements, and manages marketing plans and fundraising strategies.
  • Coordinates donor relations and communications with potential USADF supporter, establishes and maintains relationships with key contact within donor agencies.

Qualifications

At the GS-13 level, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes conducting legislative research and interpretation, providing analysis, and developing materials and presentation for briefings to Congress, federal and state partners, and stakeholder groups by senior officials. Coordinating activities and evaluating the overall public and congressional affairs and donor engagement programs. Researching and analyzing proposals and responses to congressional and stakeholder inquiries regarding donor engagement programs, and; developing and maintaining effective communication and relationship with internal and external contacts to gather and share information.

Telework Suitability:
The duties of this position are suitable for occasional telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval and if they meet the eligibility criterion in the 2010 Telework Act.

Stipulations of Employment:
